Refund & Return Policy

This is the entire refund policy. The whole thing. No fine print buried somewhere else, no separate "exceptions" page that contradicts what you read here. If something goes wrong with your order, this document explains exactly what happens next. Read it once and you'll know.

The Short Version

  • Return Window: 30 days from the date of delivery

Why We Have A Real Return Policy

The GraveYard sells collectibles. Trading cards. Sealed product. Graded slabs. These are items where condition matters down to fractions of a millimeter, where authenticity is everything, where a buyer's expectations are extremely specific. We know that even with our authentication process, our photography, and our condition descriptions, sometimes a card arrives and it's not what you wanted. Maybe the centering looked better in the photo than it does in person. Maybe you changed your mind. Maybe you bought a duplicate. Whatever the reason, you have 30 days to send it back and get every penny refunded.

This policy exists because we think it's the right thing to do. It also exists because we know that collectors who trust their shop come back, and collectors who get burned don't. We'd rather lose a sale to a return than lose a customer to a bad experience.

Return Eligibility — What Can You Return

You can return any item purchased from The GraveYard TCG within 30 days of delivery, provided:

  • The item is in its original condition
  • For raw cards: in the same condition you received it (still in the toploader/sleeve we sent)
  • For sealed product: still factory sealed, with no signs of opening or tampering
  • For graded cards: the slab is intact, undamaged, and unbroken
  • You have your order number or order confirmation email

Exceptions and Special Cases

Damaged or incorrect items: If the issue is something we caused — a damaged card, a wrong item shipped, a description that didn't match — the 30-day window still applies, and we cover all costs including replacement or refund. Photos help us process these faster.

Opened sealed product: If you opened a sealed booster box or pack, we can't accept it back as a return. The whole appeal of sealed product is that it's sealed. Once it's open, the value is permanently changed.

Cracked graded slabs: If you cracked a graded slab open after receiving it, we can't accept the return — the card is no longer in graded condition, and we can't relist it as graded.

Items damaged after delivery: If the card was fine when it arrived and got damaged in your possession (water damage, kid grabbed it, dog chewed it), that's not a return situation. We're sorry, but we can only cover items as they were when they left our facility.

How To Initiate A Return

The return process is designed to be as painless as possible. Here's exactly what to do:

  1. Email us at support@thegraveyardtcg.shop within 30 days of delivery, OR call +1 (323) 835-5989 during business hours
  2. Include your order number (it's in your order confirmation email and on the packing slip)
  3. Tell us why you're returning — you don't need to write an essay, just a quick reason ("changed my mind," "centering not what I expected," "duplicate purchase," etc.)
  4. For damaged or incorrect items, attach photos showing the issue
  5. Wait for return authorization — we typically respond within 24 hours, often faster

Once you have return authorization, we'll email you a prepaid return shipping label. Print the label, attach it to a package containing the item (please use a sturdy mailer or box, ideally the original packaging if you still have it), and drop it off at the carrier indicated on the label.

Return Shipping — We Pay For It

Return Shipping Fee: $0.00

The GraveYard pays for return shipping. Period. We email you a prepaid label, you print it, you ship the package using that label. You don't pay anything to send it back. This applies whether the return is your fault, our fault, or no one's fault. It applies whether you're returning a $5 card or a $5,000 graded slab. The label is on us.

Why? Because charging you for return shipping defeats the point of having a return policy. If you're already disappointed enough to return something, the last thing you should have to do is reach back into your pocket. So we don't make you. The label arrives in your inbox, you ship the item, you wait for the refund.

Restocking Fees — We Don't Charge Any

Restocking Fee: $0.00

A "restocking fee" is when a shop charges you a percentage of your purchase to return the item, usually claiming it's to cover the cost of putting it back into inventory. Some shops charge 10%. Some charge 15%. Some charge 25%. The GraveYard charges zero. Always. On every return. No matter what.

Your refund is 100% of what you paid. The full purchase price. No deductions for restocking, no deductions for the original shipping (which was free anyway), no deductions for "handling," no deductions for anything else.

Refund Processing

Once your return arrives at our facility, here's what happens:

  1. Inspection: We open the return and verify the item matches what was sent originally and is in acceptable returned condition
  2. Refund initiated: We process the refund through Shopify back to your original payment method
  3. Confirmation email: You get an email confirming the refund has been issued
  4. Funds arrival: How long it takes for the money to actually appear in your account depends on your payment method

Refund Timing By Payment Method

  • Credit card / Debit card: 3-5 business days from when we process the refund (sometimes faster, occasionally up to 7 business days if your bank is slow)
  • PayPal: 1-2 business days from when we process the refund (PayPal is fast)
  • Stripe: 3-5 business days, similar to credit cards

If 7 business days pass after we've processed the refund and you still haven't seen the money, contact us and we'll investigate. Sometimes it's a bank-side delay; occasionally it's a processing issue we need to escalate.

Damaged or Incorrect Items — Special Handling

If your order arrived damaged, or if we shipped you the wrong item, we want to know immediately. Here's what to do:

  1. Email support@thegraveyardtcg.shop within 24-48 hours of delivery with photos
  2. For damaged items: photograph the package exterior, the packaging materials, and the damaged item itself (carrier insurance claims require these)
  3. Tell us whether you'd prefer a replacement or a full refund
  4. We respond within 24 hours and arrange the resolution

For damaged items, we typically don't ask you to ship them back unless we need them for the carrier insurance claim. For incorrect items shipped, we'll arrange the return of the wrong item alongside getting you the correct one.

You don't pay anything in either scenario. The shipping is on us, the replacement is on us, the refund (if you choose that) is the full original purchase price.

Authenticity Guarantee — A Special Case

If you ever receive a card or collectible from The GraveYard that you believe is not authentic, contact us immediately at support@thegraveyardtcg.shop. This isn't a normal return scenario — it's a serious situation, and we treat it that way.

Here's what happens:

  1. We arrange immediate return shipping at our cost
  2. The item is examined by our authentication team
  3. If authenticated, we explain why and return the item to you (still no charge)
  4. If we agree it's not authentic, you get a full refund immediately, no waiting for the return to physically arrive — we trust you
  5. We investigate how the item entered our supply chain and make sure it doesn't happen again

This is the most serious commitment we make as a business. The 100% authenticity guarantee is the foundation of The GraveYard. If we ever fail it, we make it right.

Pre-Order Cancellations and Refunds

Pre-orders work a little differently. Since you've paid for a pre-order before the item ships (sometimes weeks or months in advance), you have flexibility we don't normally offer:

  • Cancel anytime before shipping for a full refund
  • Once it ships, the standard 30-day return policy kicks in
  • If a pre-order release is delayed, we email you with the new date and you can cancel for a full refund if you don't want to wait
  • If a release is cancelled by the manufacturer, we automatically refund you — no action required

Lost Returns

If you mailed a return using our prepaid label and it appears to be lost in transit, contact us. We can look up the tracking, file a carrier trace, and process your refund based on the tracking information. As long as you used our prepaid label and the carrier scanned it into the system, we'll honor the return even if the package itself never arrives at our facility.

If something doesn't fit cleanly into the scenarios above, just reach out. We've handled almost every weird return situation you can imagine, and we'll figure out a fair resolution.
